One of the greatest complaints people have about cruising is that they feel there isn’t enough for their children to do while at sea. Well, Disney is the foremost expert on how to entertain children, and Disney Cruise Line takes it a step further as they set sail on amazing cruises!

The cruise line was recently named the “top large cruise ship experience” by the readers of Conde Nast Magazine. Also, they also are launching a service that delivers baby supplies directly to your stateroom.

Check out these activities for children:

Flounder’s Reef Nursery
Infants ages 3 months to 3 years will enjoy life “under the sea” at the Little Mermaid themed Flounder’s Reef Nursery — the cruise industry’s first nursery at sea. Trained counselors entertain children with a variety of toys, books, videos, crafts and games. Flounder’s Reef Nursery is open select hours every day during the cruise, allowing parents to explore adventures ashore or enjoy adult-only areas onboard the ship.

Disney’s Oceaneer Club
It’s not an official port of call, but children ages 3 to 7 may feel like they’ve left the ship and arrived at Peter Pan’s Never Land during their stay at the whimsical Oceaneer Club. This child-friendly oasis, themed to Captain Hook’s pirate ship, contains a play area with slide and rope bridge, a “captain’s closet” filled with costumes, toys and games, and an open seating area for arts, crafts and movie watching. Counselors keep tots entertained with activities ranging from dance parties to science experiments to interactive story time.

Disney’s Oceaneer Lab
Kids ages 8 to 12 feel like they’ve gone to “infinity and beyond” at the space and science themed Oceaneer Lab. Twinkling star-like lights and giant planetary spheres fill the room along with an oversized Buzz Lightyear figure. A bank of computers loaded with games are available for children looking for some quiet time or they can join Professor Goo at the interactive science lab and participate in crazy experiments. There are also karaoke jams, pajama parties, sports challenges, and more.

The Stack and Aloft
The Stack (Disney Magic) and Aloft (Disney Wonder) are reserved for guests ages 13 to 17 and are packed with comfy couches, a soda bar serving soft-drinks and smoothies, internet access, plasma-screen TVs, MP3 players, board games, and other chill-out necessities. As if the cool gear inside wasn’t enough, counselors organize activities ranging from dance parties to trivia games to sports contests.

A leader in the family cruise segment, Disney Cruise Line offers three-, four- and seven-night itineraries to the Bahamas and the Caribbean. Land/sea vacation packages that include a stay at the Walt Disney World Resort are also available.
