Crown Princess Wrap-Up

Posted by TravelWeens on January 19th, 2010

Saturday morning, the Crown Princess pulled into Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. effectively ending our week-long vacation in the Caribbean.

As you can tell if you read the rest of these entries, we enjoyed ourselves very much on this ship. It was very classy, and among the best ships I’ve ever had the pleasure to sail.

There was never a moment where we had no activities available to us. From the Movies Under the Stars to the miniature golf on Deck 19 (yes, 19 decks!), there was always something to do. In fact, after a week, there were still places we had not had a chance to go on the ship.

Posted by TravelWeens on January 16th, 2010

The Crown Princess arrived at Princess Cays at about 8:30 a.m. Princess Cays is on Eleuthera Island in the Bahamas.

We decided to go to the beach, but we were sucked in to a movie on the TV — “Terminator: Salvation.” Once the movie ended, we finally got off the ship.

Day 6: Another Day at Sea on Crown Princess

Posted by TravelWeens on January 15th, 2010

As soon as we departed Cozumel on the Crown Princess, we headed northeast towards the northern Cuban coast and sailed through the night.

The sea day began very lazily for me. We woke up, ate a delicious breakfast in the dining room and planned our day.

There were several activities planned for the sea day, but there was no way we could attend them all. We watched “Transformers 2″ on the Lido Deck and then dominated our second TV theme trivia contest.

Day 5: Cozumel Fun on Crown Princess

Posted by TravelWeens on January 14th, 2010

The Crown Princess pulled into Cozumel at about 9 a.m. on our fifth day.

It was another gloomy day, but it cleared up fairly quickly. The sun came out near noon, and it never went away again!

Day 4: Exploring Roatan with Crown Princess

Posted by TravelWeens on January 13th, 2010

Our journey on the Crown Princess to Roatan, Honduras was extra special because we docked at a place called Mahogany Bay.

Mahogany Bay was built by the Carnival Corporation for the exclusive use of Carnival and Princess Cruise Line passengers. It features a terrific shopping area with all of your usual shops, and it also features a beach resort reachable by bridge or a chair lift.

Day 3: Adventures in Grand Cayman

Posted by TravelWeens on January 13th, 2010

Going into our third day on the Crown Princess, we expected to arrive at George Town, Grand Cayman. However, rough seas made that impossible.

Our captain made the decision to port us in Spotts Bay, Grand Cayman. It was literally 10 minutes away from George Town by taxi.
